Tortilla

Judging from the name you probably already have an idea what I will be letting you in on. Tacos, Burritos, Quesadilla etc. Mexican food is on a rise in London, with more places around aiming to deliver the authentic taste all the way from the South American borders. So from the heart and supposedly the Makah of burritos, San Francisco brings us Tortilla.

The concept is great, a somewhat South American version of Subway. Fresh food made oh so quick in front of your eyes, that way you can ask for as much or as little of salsa, salad, meat etc. They also have a breakfast menu, personally, the breakfast burrito is very interesting, from the sautéed potatoes, sliced chorizo, scrambled egg, salsa and veg all wrapped up. Talk about a mouthful. It may not be for everyone, but if you like trying something new and the bank account isn’t looking too bad don’t be shy give it a try. Unfortunately, you can’t beat a classic burrito, with the soft meat pieces (ranges from Pork, chicken and beef), filled with rice, sour cream, salsa, salad and guacamole. Mexican food has a ray of nutritional values. Red peppers and yellow peppers offer more vitamin C than an orange. Having corn tortilla wrap oppose to the flour based wrap, is a better choice as it provides a lot of fibre and has fewer calories. Having sampled everything they had to offer I can personally say the burritos are the winner for me as its least messy, very filling and I just prefer wraps. This is definitely a place I would recommend for grabbing a bite to eat on the go or just a nice little catch up with friends. Look out for more posts I could be back to South America soon.
